"From the very beginning, Krasna made me feel comfortable."
I had never seen a counsellor before and wasn’t sure what to expect, especially at my age (I’m 83). From the very beginning, Krasna made me feel comfortable and at ease. Our conversations helped me reflect on my life in ways I hadn’t before, and they gently guided me to revisit the beautiful memories I shared with my wife. Those reflections have brought me comfort, clarity, and a deeper appreciation for the life we built together. I’m truly grateful for the care, patience, and understanding I received.

"Being able to speak in her mother language made a huge difference."
Krasna helped my Croatian mother work through her grief with so much compassion and understanding. Being able to speak in her mother language made a huge difference — she felt truly heard, safe, and understood. That connection played an important role in her healing, and we are very grateful.

"From the moment we started sessions, I felt truly supported."
Krasna’s gentle yet perceptive approach to  knowing the right questions to ask and when to just listen. They helped me identify patterns in my relationships and gave me tools to make meaningful changes. I’m so grateful for the support and growth I experienced.

"I feel safe and listened to when I am with her."
I’ve attended therapy for many years, and I’ve encountered good and not so good therapists, Krasna is one of the good ones. I feel safe and listened to when I am with her. Compassion and experience and gentle nature combined with an ability to guide without judgment.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed. You’re welcome to book a counselling session directly, without a GP or other practitioner referral.

Sessions are 60 minutes long.

Individual appointments are $145 per session (including GST). Couple and family sessions are $185 per session (including GST).

Can I claim the cost of my session?

While Medicare rebates aren’t available, some private health insurance providers, such as Medibank may offer rebates for counselling services. It’s best to check directly with your insurer to see if your sessions are eligible.

Can I get a Medicare rebate or private health insurance rebate?

At this time, counselling session do not qualify for Medicare rebates. We also do not have partnerships with private health providers, so insurance rebates are not available through our service. The upside is there’s no limit to the number of sessions you can book, and you’ll usually experience minimal waiting times when scheduling appointments.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

To cancel an appointment without a fee, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less notice will incur a 50% charge of the session fee. This allows the appointment to be offered to another client who may need support.

If needed, you’re also welcome to change your session from in-person to online at any time.

I'm sick but I don’t want to cancel my appointment.

That’s absolutely fine. You can switch your session from in-person to online at any time, at no additional cost.

Does counselling work?

Yes, counselling can be a really supportive and positive experience. Its effectiveness often depends on your willingness to engage — attending sessions, being open, exploring new perspectives, and reflecting on the insights you gain along the way. Counselling is a collaborative journey, and meaningful change happens gradually with patience, care and commitment.

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone’s journey is different, and the number of sessions can vary depending on what you’d like support with. Many people find they get the most benefit from committing to around 6–8 sessions, as regular appointments help build momentum and support lasting change.

Most clients choose weekly sessions to start with, then move to fortnightly as things progress. We’ll work together to find a pace that feels right for you — the choice is always yours.

Is my information kept confidential?

Yes, your privacy is very important. Counsellors are ethically bound to maintain confidentiality, which helps create a safe and trusting therapeutic space. Your information will not be shared without your signed consent.

There are a few situations where confidentiality may need to be broken, such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, suspected child abuse or neglect, or involvement in a criminal matter. In these circumstances, counsellors are ethically required to seek guidance and notify the appropriate authorities.
